Rob Backwell

Rob has 13 years of private equity investment experience, having joined Macquarie Bank’s successful private equity business in 1998 after 6 years with Macquarie in Corporate Finance, where he provided advice on mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and corporate restructuring. Prior to joining Macquarie, Rob was a senior associate in a Melbourne law firm.

Rob served as a board member of Helmsman Capital for 2 years prior to the Helmsman MBO and rejoined the Board in 2010. Rob holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Melbourne.
